Going Green - Living Green Contest
The new KEHA Environment, Housing and Energy Committee will be offering a contest this spring among the 13 Homemaker clubs in Barren County. We would like to emphasize "Going Green and Living Green".
There are three areas of the contest:
1. 40-Gallon Challenge --15%
2. An Energy Audit of Your Home--35%
3. Growing a Garden--50%
In the “growing a garden” section of the contest, you have the option of either growing vegetables in containers or in the ground. All herbs and vegetables are encouraged. Different vegetables are required. Please take before and after pictures to verify what you planted.
The winning club with the most participants will receive a “green” gift for their home and a picture in the Daily Times newspaper.
Don't forget the deadline to turn in the completed project is August 31.
